What is your WHY?
We want Norton Park students to become creative problem solvers to be college and career ready! Students will be well prepared to face future problems by presenting rigorous challenges.
STEM TEAM GOALS 2017:
- STEM Night/ Engineering Fair
- Grade Level Year Long Project- Sherry Martin write lesson plans
- Makerspace- What room can we turn into a makerspace?
- Tinker Boxes- Liu
- Which HS can we team up with the Skype normally? Which businesses can we partner with (World Language- German Suarez? Sally?)
- Come up with an outline of planning sheet to use school-wide for Engineer Design Process
- Make Engineer Design Process for every classroom and require it to be posted next year
- Have STEM materials drive quarterly
- Create a STEM Closet outside the Science Lab- Parent Volunteers (Tinker Boxes)
- Once a Month STEM Video for the Morning News
- Create a website hub for teachers to visit for STEM lessons
- Create a website for students to access at Home
- Next year we will meet once a month
- STEM Camp at KSU- 4 scholarships

Timeline-
January 2016: Family Science Night
Winter Break: Inform teachers of STEM Day which is May 6, 2016 and share website and resources.
May 2016: Classroom teachers will try their 1st STEM Challenge in their classroom
August 2016: Present a STEM challenge and show what others schools are doing at pre-planning to classroom teachers. Reminder teachers about website and resources available.
December 2016:Next year we would like for classroom teachers to facilitate 2 STEM Challenges. One STEM Challenge in December and one in May
January 2017:Start a 3D Printing club? Send out fliers about STEM Summer Camp.
